Testimonials

I am very pleased with the work provided by Toronto Home Movies in converting some family home movies from film reels to dvd, and some audio cassette tapes to CD. They were instrumental to us in preserving this terrific footage, which almost feels like you're using a time machine to witness events of the past. And the best is that these family movies will be preserved and available for future generations. I was impressed with their assistance, attention to detail, and ability to do the conversions in a good timeframe. If you are looking for a business to take care of your film mementoes, I recommend them.

Thank you for a great job, well done.
Edward Rogers,
President, Rogers Cable.

NTSC to DVD

Product Summary:
NTSC has been the North American standard video format for over half a century. Therefore our highest volume of requests for video format transfers are NTSC to DVD. Yet we also offer a wide variety of additional options for your NTSC video, please see our export section for all of these options.
Product Description:
NTSC, named for the National Television System(s) Committee, is the analogue system that is used throughout North America, parts of Asia including Japan and South Korea, and South America. NTSC is also the name of the U.S. standardization body that developed the broadcast standard. The first NTSC standard was developed in 1941 and had no provision for color TV. In 1953 a second modified version of the NTSC standard was adopted which allowed color broadcasting to be compatible with the existing stock of black-and-white receivers while maintaining the broadcast channel bandwidth already in use. NTSC was the first widely adopted broadcast color system. NTSC color encoding is used with the M format, which consists of 29.97 interlaced frames of video per second. Each frame consists of a total of 525 scan lines. After over a half-century of use, the vast majority of over-the-air NTSC transmissions in the United States were replaced with ATSC on June 12, 2009 and will be by August 31, 2011 in Canada.
Here at Montreal Home Movies, we are your number 1 option for NTSC to DVD conversions. Since NTSC has been the standard in North America for nearly half a century, NTSC to DVD transfers are requested well above the other video formats. This has given us a proven track record for NTSC to DVD conversions. We guarantee your satisfaction with our work. To see how we improve the quality of your NTSC tape, please see our Remastering section.
You also can be assured of our work with all our other options for NTSC to DVD conversions, such as editing, DVD graphics, uploading to your hard drive, and many more. For a complete list of our options, please see our export section.
